The Tropicanos Come Dine With Me

Today was the turn of the Tropicanos to treat Mrs Walker, Miss Worley, Mrs Smith, Miss Marianer and Mrs Howlett to a 3 course tropical meal; including a hula hoop competition!!  Once again, the children produced and hosted a meal they should feel proud of.  Our thanks goes to Mrs Hillier and Miss Neill for their support with the cooking.  The staff thoroughly enjoyed being fed and entertained.  Well done girls.

The Gondolas Come Dine With Me...

The Gondolas cooked and hosted a spectacular 3 course Italian meal for Fr Pat, Mrs Williams, Mr Spackman and Mrs Browne.  It was a great success.  They would like to say a special 'Thank you' to Mrs Hull who came in to help them prepare for their meal.

Year 6 WW2 Evacuation experience

On Wednesday, the Year 6s went to Winchcomb Station where they were transported back to the 1940s to learn/experience what it was like to be an evacuee during the war.  The visit comprised of a steam train ride, talking with people who had 1st hand experience of being evacuated, arresting a German spy, learning about life in the country, putting out incendiary bombs using a stirrup pump and sheltering in a community shelter during an air raid.  "My particular favourite part of the visit was the air raid; it was as realistic as a 3D film. The sound of the vibrating siren made my heart thump and flutter with excitement - the pitch-black darkness also added to the magic." Julianne (Y6)
