World Book Day 2022
Dear Parents/Carers
World Book Day, Thursday 3 March 2022
This year’s World Book day is on Thursday 3 March and celebrates 25 years of bringing a love of reading to children and young people. We will be celebrating throughout the week, as follows:
World Book Day Assembly
Led by Mrs Kilby-Salt on Thursday 3 March at 9.05 am.
Book Speed Dating
Children are asked to bring along a copy of their favourite book as per the timetable below. They will then have a minute to tell the person sitting opposite about it before swapping partners. At the end, we hope every child will have met a book they would like to read. This will be done in paired up classes:
YR with Y1 – Tuesday 1 March
Y2 with Y3 – Tuesday 1 March
Y4 with Y5 – Thursday 3 March
Y5 with Y6 – Friday 4 March
Book Treasure Hunt
The first clue, which will be given to each teacher, will lead the class to a particular book. From there, each clue leads to the next book in the trail. There will be a KS1 trail and a KS2 Book Treasure Hunt trail.
You can also find some exciting games and other ideas on the World Book Day website:

We hope the children will find these activities fun and that you will enjoy sharing the ‘joy of books’ with them! There will be a segment for World Book Day in Congratulations Assembly next Friday.
Staff Story Time
Staff have recorded themselves reading books (or extracts from books) and are available to watch below. Enjoy!
